Meeting stringent SFI 3.2A/1 certification standards, these pants deliver superb protection for entry-level racers, mechanics, pit crews, and race officials. Crafted from premium treated PROBAN® FR Cotton, they are the ideal choice for racing series that do not require Nomex® or aramid fabrics. Perfect for dirt track and oval racing—including Midgets, Sprint Cars, Legends, and Bandoleros—as well as sports car classes like SCCA Solo and ProSolo. Sold separately, these pants can be seamlessly paired with the matching K1 Challenger Jacket to create a versatile two-piece suit.

Please note: Unlike Nomex® and other aramid materials that are inherently flame-resistant, FR cotton is treated with a flame-retardant chemical that can lose efficacy over the course of the garment’s lifetime.

Material (PROBAN® Cotton):
FR Cotton, including its branded counterpart, Proban®, is a reliable flame-resistant material that provides consistent fire protection. While FR Cotton is treated with a flame-retardant chemical for initial resistance, this treatment may diminish over time with washing.

Certification: SFI 3.2A/1
Generally, single-layer suits have a Thermal Protection value of six. Suits rated to 3.2A/1 are tested for up to 6 seconds in simulated lab fires, offering approximately 3 seconds of fire protection against second-degree burns.
