How does Hocotex work? Racing suits are traditionally constructed using layers of fabric sewn together with a quilted pattern. This quilting creates pockets of air between the layers, which expand in a fire, providing thermal protection for the driver. Hocotex uses a honeycomb structure with over 60,000 internal air cells, providing a 10 to 12% increase in heat protection. Compare this to the 300 quilted chambers found in a traditional suit, and the difference is clear!
